A cute & funky burp cloth

A piece of flannel fabric 15″ x 3″ / 1 1/2″ wide piece of fleece fabric

1 1/2″ wide piece of ribbon

Straight pins

Decorations for the top of the cupcake

A couple of side notes: you want to keep this as tight as possible, if you want the center of the cupcake raised you can put the piece of flannel slightly higher than the burp cloth to begin, the flannel will magically seem to grow as you roll the cupcake. Don’t worry about this. Also if you are having a hard time keeping everything together you can pin the flannel to the burp cloth from the bottom edge and after everything is rolled together take it out.

Notice how the flannel is longer than the burp cloth now. I don’t know why that happens but we will take care of it. Also the bottom of your cupcake may not look that great when completed but who is going to look at the bottom when you make the top so cute.

I tried this putting two burp cloths together but my end product was much too large and bulky and it was really hard to roll. That is when I came up with the flannel strip instead to add some contrast and make the cupcake a bit larger. I would be interested to see what others can come up with to make these. Such creative women out there. Let me know if you make it work another way. I would love to see.
