I had loads of fun hosting this year’s Most Adorable Kids Party Contest, so I decided it’s time for another fun contest! This week we’re hosting an Adorable Birthday Girl Contest, because I know that you put as much effort into dressing up the party girl, as you put into creating adorable parties. So here’s your chance to show off those cute pictures of your adorable birthday princesses! As usual we have 3 fabulous prizes to be won, but this time you will be the judges! Readers will be allowed to vote for their favorites, and winners will be chosen based on the total number of votes. The fabulous prizes include:

The first prize winner will be treated to a shoping spree at Kate Landers Events Shoppe with a $50 gift certificate to spend on Kate’s beautiful,classic children’s party goods, outfits and more. 

The second prize winner will be treated to a $35 value shopping spree at Posh Pixles Design Studio; full of fabulous party goods to chose from.

 The third prize winner will have a blast, choosing a favorite costume from Dress Up & Play Parties.

Kate Landers Events is relatively new, and in the short time they’ve been around, Kate has styled some pretty fabulous kids’ parties. Her latest Woodland Fairy Party is no exception, and it’s obvious that Kate left out no detail, and went all out, to create the most magical fairy woodland. The dessert table is absolutely STUNNING!  ”Designed to mimic the enchanted forest floor, the table was covered with a green moss table runner, food was displayed on wooden “stumps” and personalized with wooden letters for the birthday girl, Elle. I’m seriously in love with the backdrop of grass, twig and flower bundles, and the gorgeous butterflies. The fairy treats were served in chocolate ’bird’s nest’ bowls, and included:  ”Fairy Flakes”(coconut), “Chipmunk Chips” (banana), “Gnome-Made Granola”, “Wrinkled Grapes”, “Chocolate Drops, pink “acorns” and “pink feather dust (cotton candy)”, and  ”ladybugs” were crafted carefully out of apples and chocolate frosting. Guests also enjoyed “Snail Sandwiches” (created of strawberry cream cheese and jelly) and “Woodland Smores” (pre-melted smores served on a wooden “stump”). Guests were also invited to decorate thir own toadstool cupcakes.

The invitations were custom designed by Paper & Pigtails.

The guests sat on custom designed toad stools, at a table with toadstool centerpieces. Each place was set with a Fairy garland, revealing a tag with each guests name, laid on their plate. A wreath with double faced pink satin ribbon hung over the table, and each little guest received a custom designed fairy frock, hair garland and wand.

Activities included decorating fairy houses, magical toad stool and Fairy May Poles. Guests went home with little bird houses to decorate at home, personalised fairy dust jars, and of course, their fairy costumes. Magical indeed! For more details see Kate’s Blog.

I’m really loving this fun Country “Fair Day” themed party that Anneliese of Aesthetic Nest created for her daughter and niece’s 4th birthday. So bright, and cheerful! There were many fun elements here, including the cool bandana quilt tablecloth. Anneliese even created a tutorial, if you’d like to try your hand at creating your own tablecloth. In keeping with the “Fair Day” theme, the table was loaded with candy, and assorted cakes from a ‘bake-off’, made by Annelise and her sister. I’m also really loving the orange preserve jars, decorated with fabrics left over from the homemade birthday outfits!

The birthday girls Audrey and Kate wore cute outfits made from Portabellopixe patterns, by their mothers.

The cute invitations each included a raffle ticket that guests were asked to bring along to the party and drop in a box for a prize drawing. The favor bags were brown craft bags decorated with labels to match the invitations, each lined with a bright bandana. Don’t you love this simple, but oh so pretty dessert table by Scissors. Paper. Cake. Love the signature Hello Naomi cake with a cherry on top, and what a great idea to serve pink lemonade in cute bottles instead of glasses!

I never fail to be wowed by Clau’s dessert tables, and she has done it again! Here are pictures of the lovely pastel dessert table she styled for a recent baby shower, featuring cupcakes, macaroons, chocolates and gourmet marshmallows.

I am so in love with this darling, fairy tale Pinwheels and Pearls party which was submitted by Victoria of The City Cradle.  This sweet party was created to celebrate an adorable little girl’s first birthday, and I’m certainly wowed by the results! This is what Victoria had to say about about this sweet event:

“This Pinwheels & Pearls party was inspired by a Kat Spade ad that came out this spring and we lined over 50 pinwheels along our back fence, pearls hung in the tree and a thrifted chandelier was painted white & pink for the occasion. We set up a table at perfect kid height for coloring in pinwheels during the party.

We had a desert bar with Starburst pinwheel pops, pinwheel cupcakes and a doughnut tree in the center.

We made pinwheel bow-ties for the boys, pinwheel necklaces for the girls and had many more adorable, kid friendly details. It was truly a magical day.”  Absolutely amazing, and look how adorable the birthday girl is in her pearls, and party hat! This reminds me of our fantastic ‘Adorable Birthday Girl’ / ‘Adorable Birthday Boy’ contests, which we’ll be hosting very soon!!   Look out for the details in an upcoming post.

I’m really loving these delightfully sweet little flower arrangements. So perfect for a spring baby shower or a darling little girl’s party. My daughter’s 3rd birthday is coming up in September, and these are the exact colours I’ve chosen for her party (but more on that later!) These little cuties could serve as centerpieces, and can even double as party favors, and guests can keep the pretty tea cups long after the flowers fade.

You will need:

 -Vintage tea cups

-2 small roses, 1 large rose, 1 dahlia bud, 1 stem of sedum per arrangement

-Cardstock

-Calligraphy pen

-Long toothpicks

Instructions: 

1. Fill tea cups with cold water.

2. Cut stems of roses about 1 inch short and place them in the teacup.

3. Fill in the space between the roses with sedum and then added a dahlia bud poking up out of the side.

4. Cut a piece of cardstock about 1.5 inches wide and 8 inches long.

5. Fold the cardstock in half and cut a v at the end so it looks like a ribbon.

6. Tape a long toothpick to the inside of the flag and then write your message on each flag using a calligraphy pen.

I love the soft yellow colour scheme in this little bumblebee party…so cute and adorable. This was a first birthday party done by Scissors Paper Cake, for a sweet little girl, but this adorable theme is gender neutral, and can be used for any age.  

I love everything about this little party, it’s hard to choose my favorite elements!! But…I love the bumblebee cupcakes, and I’m really loving the honeycomb paper treat cones, oh and the dessert table backdrop…so sweet!

In the past few weeks I’ve seen some really cute boy parties, and I’m thinking these could actually be strong contenders for next year’s Most Adorable Party Contest! I have a few more adorable boy parties to be featured soon, and this morning I had a specific one in mind, but when I opened my inbox, and found this awesome woodland themed party from Katie of Passys to Parties , I couldn’t resist! So many cute details that are sure to inspire…

The details as told by Katie: I made memory tree centerpieces with leaf cutouts and pictures of my son’s first year hanging from the branches. I used a lot of logs and natural features like moss and grass throughout the party to create a woodsy feel. Some of my favorite details include, live tree seedlings for party favors, specialized food to fit the theme like smore kabobs, trail mix, ants-on-a log, etc… I made special baby food packs with “Baby trail mix” which was my concoction of fruit puffs, yogurt melts and cheerios to hand out to the babies. I collected 1 year old pictures from our entire family and made a family tree with all the old baby pictures. I did an elaborate dessert table with a woodsy cake placed on top of a real log that we cut down in our backyard, tree cupcakes made by me, smore kabos, and green and brown candy in apothecary jars.

I love the use of logs as displays on the dessert table, and I absolutely love the woodsy cake and tree cupcakes. Using live tree seedlings, and baby trail mix as party favors, is such a great idea. The log food displays are awesome, and so are the memory tree centerpieces. Such an adorable party. Thanks for sharing Katie!!
