I absolutely love this favor idea from Chelsea Fuss. Simple, budget friendly, and so so sweet. These would make gorgeous favors at a girly party or baby shower.

To make them you’ll need: Chocolate candies in gold wrapping, unbleached parchment paper, rayon trimming ribbon (available here: http://www.custompaper.com/Shop/Ribbon/midori_rayon_trimming.html ), and double stick tape.

Then simply:

1. Wrap the candies in parchment paper and secure with double stick tape.
2. Wrap with rayon trimming ribbon.
3. Line them up to display or place one on each napkin.

According to Chelsea, these will cost 10c each to make!

I’m really loving these delightfully sweet little flower arrangements. So perfect for a spring baby shower or a darling little girl’s party. My daughter’s 3rd birthday is coming up in September, and these are the exact colours I’ve chosen for her party (but more on that later!) These little cuties could serve as centerpieces, and can even double as party favors, and guests can keep the pretty tea cups long after the flowers fade.

You will need:

 -Vintage tea cups

-2 small roses, 1 large rose, 1 dahlia bud, 1 stem of sedum per arrangement

-Cardstock

-Calligraphy pen

-Long toothpicks

Instructions: 

1. Fill tea cups with cold water.

2. Cut stems of roses about 1 inch short and place them in the teacup.

3. Fill in the space between the roses with sedum and then added a dahlia bud poking up out of the side.

4. Cut a piece of cardstock about 1.5 inches wide and 8 inches long.

5. Fold the cardstock in half and cut a v at the end so it looks like a ribbon.

6. Tape a long toothpick to the inside of the flag and then write your message on each flag using a calligraphy pen.

I came across this sweet idea to recycle old votive holders and use them as flower vases / place settings / favors, via Project Wedding. Talk about budget friendly! I have lots of old votive holders lying around, and I certainly wouldn’t protest against putting them to such good use. These would look so lovely as place holders at a baby shower, and what’s really great is that they can also double as party favors or simple centerpieces! The pictured vases are filled with pretty primroses but you can use any other small flower such as violets, pansies, individual hydrangea blossoms, miniature daffodils, or muscari.  

Here’s How To Make Them

You’ll Need:

Votive holders

6-8 stems per vase

Steps:

1. To remove wax from votive holders, leave them in the freezer for several days.

2. Be sure and wash the vases completely to remove any excess wax and dry thoroughly. 

3. Write the name of each guest on a label and affix it to the vase.

4. Fill each vase about half-way full of water.

5. Cut the stems short so the blossoms rest against the side of the vase but be sure the stems are long enough to drink water.

6. Arrange the flowers the night before the event and keep them in a fridge, away from fruit if possible.

Here’s a fab favour idea, for a cute as a button birthday party or baby shower. Cute little candy buttons made by melting candy, pouring them into a button mold, allowing them to dry, then packaging them in little clear bags, and stapling on some cute labels.

This week I featured the Blooming Baby Shower/ First Birthday Party Theme, and I thought I’d throw out some more ideas surrounding the theme.  Pictured above are some great “blooming” centerpieces which double as party favours. See the How To Guides here: Paper bag centerpieces, flower boxes, potted orchids, floral cones.

I spotted these sophisticated jelly bean favour jars over at Silly Bee’s Chickadees & feel in love. They would make such pretty party favours for both baby showers & kids parties. So simple to put together & jelly beans come in every colour, so these favours can suit almost any theme. Get some clear jars,  fill them up with jelly beans to suit your theme colours, tie some pretty ribbon around the rim, & voila, you’ve created pretty, sophisticated party favours, that your guests will love!

Paper cones are super easy & inexpensive to make, and they’re adaptable to any theme. You can simply choose decorative paper or even gift paper to co-ordinate with your theme or colour scheme, and create a stunning display. You can fill up the cones with all kinds of yummy treats. What a lovely way to dress up plain old popcorn, as in the display above, created by Amy Atlas.

You can fill them up with lovely candy, as in this Martha Stewart display.

Or caramel popcorn as in this display by Hostess with the Mostess. The possibilities are endless!

What You Need To Make Them

• decorative paper / gift paper of your choice
• clear tape
• glue stick
• scissors

Method

1. Cut a circle out of your paper (using a compass or any circular object to draw the shape)
2. Cut out a triangle about 1/4 of the circle, as shown in the diagram above
3. Fold the circle, overlapping the edges. Make sure to leave a small hole in the bottom of the cone
4. Tape the edges together on the inside & use a bit of glue on the outside to get the edges to lie flat

For The Display

You Need

• lollipop sticks
• craft styrofoam sheets (1 inch thick)
• treats to fill your cones
• shallow tray / vase / container
• candy / treats to cover styrofoam

 To Create Display

1. Cut a piece of styrofoam sheet to fit securely in the bottom of your tray / vase / container.
2. Place the styrofoam sheet in the tray, then insert the lollipop sticks into the foam, leaving a few inches in between the sticks to fit the cones.
3. Pour candy, popcorn, or your chosen treat over the styrofoam until it is completely covered.
4. Fill your paper cones with your chosen treat, then slide them over the lollipop sticks through the hole in the bottom.

How cute is this tree of party favours! Orignially featured on Women’s Day   as a Halloween party idea, I think it’s a brilliant idea for a birthday party. It would be great for a baby shower too, but instead of treat bags, hang baby clothes, blankets, towels etc.

These are so super easy to make. You just need very basic sewing skills, and a sprinkle of creativity.

Materials 

Varied 3″ x 4 1/2″ pieces of fabric 
Needle and thread or sewing machine
Ribbon, string or twine for drawstring
Scissors
Spray paint & branch

Instructions

Instructions:
1. Fold down long edge of rectangle 5?8″ on wrong side of fabric. Stitch 1?2″ from fold to make casing.
2. Fold rectangle in half, right sides of fabric together. Stitch along cut edges (1?4″ seam allowance), stopping just before casing.
3. Turn right side out. Attach safety pin to drawstring and pull through casing. Tie ends of string together.
4. Hang on previously spray-painted branch.

Don’t forget to allow the paint to dry on the tree before hanging up your bags filled with delightful party treats.
