<p style="text-align: left;">Jackie from <a href="http://jackiefo.blogspot.com/2010/03/pearl-party.html" target="_blank">Jackie Fo</a>, helped to create this lovely Pearl themed baby shower for a friend. They chose the theme because the mom to be had nicknamed her baby Pearl. {As I always say, make the theme personal, and it will definitely be a success.}  The shower was planned on a tight budget, but Jackie and her friends did a great job! Strings of pearls were used to decorate the mantle, to tie the cellophane bags for the cookie party favours, in the flower arrangements&#8230;everywhere. Jackie even made the banner to resemble pearls, and I love the little activity where guests were required to give the mom to be their &#8216;Pearls of Wisdom&#8217;. The Pearl Theme was really carried throughout the party. A fab example of how you can put together a  great party, full of lovely details, even when you&#8217;re on a budget. Thanks for sharing Jackie!    </p>

Jessica put together this darling baby shower for a friend, using the colours from the baby&#8217;s room. She chose the My Little Cupcake theme because in her words &#8220;I thought she&#8217;s baking a little cupcake in her belly&#8221;. There were lots of sweet details, and pretty centerpieces made by Jessica herself. I love that she sent guests home with their own <a href="http://partyboxdesign.blogspot.com/2010/01/updated-diy-party-favor-idea.html" target="_blank">DIY little cupcake kits</a>: Mason jars filled with cake mix, shredded coconut, and chocolate chip morsels, with cute little tags with baking instructions on the back. Cute, cute cute!</p>

<p>I love the idea of using Marshmallows as toppings for the cupcakes, and these cookie favour jars are such a sweet idea!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a little of what Clau had to say about this event:</p>
<p>“I decided to make a baby shower for a very good friend who is expecting her 1st baby.  It´s a girl so I decided to go with a color palette of white, soft pink and brown.  I thought it was a chic and cute combination.  I decided to bake some chocolate cupcakes and decorate them with Philadelphia frosting in pink and a small white marshmallow as the topping. Then I made some marshmallow pops.  I decide to make them look like mini cupcakes so I choose white medium size marshmallows covered with chocolate and put a small White Candy Mint as topper.  As favors, I did use an idea I found on the Bakerella blog, which is the ingredients of a recipe to make cookies in a decorated jar with the instructions to bake them. My friends were fascinated with the idea and with all the party decorations like the banner and the cupcake toppers, which I also made it myself.”</p>
<p>You can see more events by Clau at <a href="http://eyecandyevents.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Eye Candy Events</a>.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Here are the details as told by the girls from Lollipop Events.  </p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_8.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /></p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>&#8220;Baby is for Baby Shower …and Baby Boy Baron.</strong> We took the Birds &amp; the Bees to a whole other level with this retro inspired baby shower featuring a warm yellow, white and grey color pallette. We started off by finding adorable yellow and grey floral patterned fabric on <a title="etsy.com" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/http://www.etsy.com');" href="http://www.etsy.com" target="_blank">Etsy</a> and designed custom linens trimmed with bright yellow burlap.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_3.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" />We also created placemats by simply cutting out circles of the burlap for a super easy DIY! The table was set underneath a series of frames we had built then covered with a white cotton for a delicate shade.</p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_2.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /><strong>For the floral chandeliers</strong>, we started with two sizes of embroidery loops and attached tons of various shades of yellow and white ribbons and yarn through each of them. Then we covered the smaller loop with a thick ribbon to give it some form and hand sewed white carnations around the large top loop. White yarn and wire was used to attach the chandelier to a smaller top circular frame and then to the roof of the frame itself. The more the wind blew and the yarn unraveled at its ends the more charming it became!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>To make each place setting special</strong> we baked 40 individual coconut cakes topped with mini-handmade marzipan bees set on vintage doilies! We found the DIY for the marzipan bees over at <a title="Martha Stewart" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/http://www.marthastewart.com');" href="http://www.marthastewart.com" target="_blank">MarthaStewart.com</a>.</p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_4.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Baby bottles served as the glasses for the <strong>Baby Bottle Bellinis</strong> (triple B word!) and proudly wore ‘B’ flags of their own.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Vintage vases and vessels</strong> were filled with bright, energetic mums, daisies and exotic sunflowers accented with craspedia balls. We actually found a lot of the retro vases at our local thrift stores for eco-chic entertaining!</p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_6.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /> <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_7.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /></p>
<p><strong>The candy buffet was nestled under a four-poster cabana we also had made for this event</strong> and was covered with cotton fabric and had its own gorgeous ribbon chandelier swaying from it. Strands of butterflies were draped around the posts for the fanciful effect sure to lure.</p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_12.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /></p>
<p>Tons of various height apothecary jars were filled with sugarlicious yellow candies and had custom tags draped with yellow ribbons calling out what their delicious bellies held.</p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_11.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /></p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_10.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /></p>
<p><strong>We also made goody bags</strong> and asked to take home as many delectable goodies as they could hold.</p>
<p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: pointer" src="http://www.hostessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded_images/bee_babyshower_9.jpg" alt="bee baby shower ideas" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">We played Badmitton, Bocce Ball, had accents of Birds, Bees, Butterflies, Balloons and even served up a cute bowl of bright yellow Bananas! Each guest took home a Bag of candy… <strong>The ‘B’s were never ending and would also work fabulously for a ‘B’ridal Shower!</strong>”</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Friends Mandy, Jackie &amp; Trish came up with this great baby shower idea, and hardly spent much to put it all together. They used up left over candy from a previous party, and added some very creative touches to create a fabulous candy themed baby shower.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Of course all the yummy sweets and treats were laid out in a lovely, colourful candy buffet. Elegant bubble chandeliers bought on clearance from IKEA hung from the ceiling. The cylindrical vase ceterpieces, filled with bubblegum &amp; lollipops, re-labeled with a &#8220;Sweetest Thing Candy Shoppe&#8221; logo, were budget friendly &amp; easy to make.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The Candy Table centerpiece was a stunning nappy cake decorated with pink lollipops, bubble gum &amp; lots of lovely ribbon.  Have a look <a href="http://creativehostess.co.uk/2009/09/16/modern-nappy-cakes-inspiration/" target="_blank">How to make modern nappy cakes</a>, for ideas on how to make your own.   </p>

<p style="text-align: center;">At the end of the party, guests filled up take away bags with their choice of candy from the lovely buffet.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">And the adorable owl cellophane bags filled with pink cotton candy were the perfect party favours for this sweet baby shower.</p>

<div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXTmoM7tYI/AAAAAAAAA7o/KYh1oRLR85s/s1600-h/IMG_7191.jpg"></a></div>
<div>I&#8217;ve been a fan ever since I saw the amazing car party (which I&#8217;ll share soon), that Sarah, over at <a href="http://jackandizzy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Jack &amp; Izzy </a>threw for her son. I was even more wowed by her fabulous Baby Gender Party, where she gathered her family together to reveal the sex of their baby. What a great idea!</div>
<div>Here are the wonderful details as told by Sarah:<br />
<span style="color: #ffffff;">asdf</span><br />
&#8220;On Friday afternoon, Garret and I had our 20 week ultrasound, and we got to find out the sex of the baby. I was SO EXCITED! I had been counting down the days, hours, and minutes until we would know if we were having a boy or a girl!  Since it was such a huge deal and such exciting news, we had our family over for a &#8220;Gender Party&#8221; on Friday night for the big reveal.<br />
<span style="color: #ffffff;">asdf</span><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXaC4X9F4I/AAAAAAAAA9A/qHZurItX9Bw/s1600-h/IMG_7284.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378945072991377282" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 300px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXaC4X9F4I/AAAAAAAAA9A/qHZurItX9Bw/s400/IMG_7284.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a><br />
These were the invitations I sent out, and the whole inspiration for the party decorations came from this design. I searched high and low for some kind of giraffe pattern in yellow and orange. Don&#8217;t you get excited when you find that <em>exact thing</em> that you had pictured in your head?! Anyway, these were <a href="http://www.rockscissorpaper.com/gipaofca.html"><span style="color: #cc0000;">blank greeting cards</span></a> from Rock Scissor Paper, and I printed off the &#8220;Boy or Girl&#8221; strip and adhered it to the front. The inside read, &#8220;Come be the first to know!&#8221; and it gave all the times and details.<br />
<span style="color: #ffffff;">asdf</span></div>
<div>
<div>
<div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqalcdUyFDI/AAAAAAAAA9g/Xj2KpO6MuyQ/s1600-h/cupcakes.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379168713267352626" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 268px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqalcdUyFDI/AAAAAAAAA9g/Xj2KpO6MuyQ/s400/cupcakes.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="268" /></a></div>
<div>Garret and I brainstormed a fun way to actually break the news at the party, and this is what we came up with: We put a gumball in the center of each cupcake, and we let everyone bite into them on the count of three. They would either see a pink center for a girl or a blue center for a boy.</div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;">asdf</span></div>
<div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqalWhD6ImI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/-KMxo63Urps/s1600-h/pom-2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379168611191104098" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 300px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqalWhD6ImI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/-KMxo63Urps/s400/pom-2.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a><br />
Another shot of the dessert table &#8211; sorry the lighting is so terrible. We had our party pretty late in the evening, so there wasn&#8217;t a whole lot of natural sunlight left. But as you can see, I followed the giraffe theme from the invitations, and all the food and decorations were yellow and orange.</div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;">asdf</span><br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXT-hzTHpI/AAAAAAAAA7w/Fgf-Bb6cfQY/s1600-h/IMG_7191a.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378938401142808210" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 286px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXT-hzTHpI/AAAAAAAAA7w/Fgf-Bb6cfQY/s400/IMG_7191a.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="286" /></a></div>
<div>The pinwheel cupcakes &#8211; I made the pinwheels myself using card stock and lollipop sticks. Originally, my plan had been to order the pinwheel cupcake toppers from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7568693"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Twirlie Whirlies</span></a> on Etsy, but in my procrastination, I did not leave enough time for shipping, so I ended up doing a Google search for &#8220;paper pinwheel tutorials&#8221; and I figured out how to make them on my own.</div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;">asdf</span><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXW2T1Sj0I/AAAAAAAAA8Q/2ROBYFaAL8M/s1600-h/popcorn.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378941558488993602" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 141px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXW2T1Sj0I/AAAAAAAAA8Q/2ROBYFaAL8M/s400/popcorn.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="141" /></a></div>
<div>Cute, little popcorn bags &#8211; I purchased these at Michael&#8217;s, scalloped the top of them with decorative scissors, and added a label on the front.</div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;">asdf</span></div>
<div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXWX25JKwI/AAAAAAAAA8I/ki7EVlAi7io/s1600-h/cookies.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378941035324451586" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 141px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXWX25JKwI/AAAAAAAAA8I/ki7EVlAi7io/s400/cookies.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="141" /></a></div>
<div>Sugar cookies with royal icing &#8211; I used <a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.fc77a0dbc44dd1611e3bf410b5900aa0/?vgnextoid=7ee2640093b0f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&amp;vgnextfmt=default"><span style="color: #cc0000;">this</span></a> Martha Stewart recipe, and they turned out quite yummy.</div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;">asdfas<br />
</span></div>
<div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqaqwNj_ekI/AAAAAAAAA94/TKKiNd7HNLM/s1600-h/drink-station.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379174550191700546" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 148px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqaqwNj_ekI/AAAAAAAAA94/TKKiNd7HNLM/s400/drink-station.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="148" /></a></div>
<div>The drink station &#8211; I bought the Tangerine Italian Soda from Whole Foods because it was orange and the bottles were so perfect. I peeled off the labels they came with and added my own instead. I also put some orange slices into the lemonade to add a punch of color, and they gave the lemonade such a delicious taste!<br />
<span style="color: #ffffff;">asdfa</span></div>
<div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqbROdUpd_I/AAAAAAAAA-A/gbSM4RHfSy4/s1600-h/cupcake-liners.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379216851260241906" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 148px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqbROdUpd_I/AAAAAAAAA-A/gbSM4RHfSy4/s400/cupcake-liners.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="148" /></a></div>
<div>I got these darling cupcake liners from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7099306&amp;ga_search_query=cupcakesocial&amp;ga_search_type=seller_usernames"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Cupcake Social</span></a>, and I used them for my lemon bars.</div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;">asdfa</span></div>
<div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXarWJvC_I/AAAAAAAAA9Q/fIIU33YBuow/s1600-h/poms.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378945768179567602" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 148px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXarWJvC_I/AAAAAAAAA9Q/fIIU33YBuow/s400/poms.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="148" /></a></div>
<div>And I hung some orange and yellow tissue poms from the chandelier above the table. If you&#8217;ll remember, I featured the awesome Etsy shop <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6914690&amp;ga_search_query=pomlove&amp;ga_search_type=seller_usernames"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Pom Love</span></a> a couple weeks back.</div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;">asdfas<br />
</span><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXXljasggI/AAAAAAAAA8g/MSvFShRQp54/s1600-h/shirts.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378942370126266882" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 141px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXXljasggI/AAAAAAAAA8g/MSvFShRQp54/s400/shirts.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="141" /></a><br />
On the invitations, we instructed everyone to &#8220;play along&#8221; and wear a blue shirt if they thought we were having a boy or a pink shirt if they thought we were having a girl. As you can see, the pink votes way outnumbered the blue votes!<br />
<span style="color: #ffffff;">asdfas</span></div>
<div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXYLBZ0iwI/AAAAAAAAA8o/N8QdtyIAxJ0/s1600-h/IMG_7223.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378943013830822658" class="aligncenter" style="width: 400px; height: 286px; cursor: hand; border: 0px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nFuY-C_5OxM/SqXYLBZ0iwI/AAAAAAAAA8o/N8QdtyIAxJ0/s400/IMG_7223.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="286" /></a></div>
<div>Everyone biting into their cupcakes &#8230; ONE, TWO, THREE, BITE!!! What&#8217;s it gonna be?!!!</div>
