I absolutely love this favor idea from Chelsea Fuss. Simple, budget friendly, and so so sweet. These would make gorgeous favors at a girly party or baby shower.

To make them you’ll need: Chocolate candies in gold wrapping, unbleached parchment paper, rayon trimming ribbon (available here: http://www.custompaper.com/Shop/Ribbon/midori_rayon_trimming.html ), and double stick tape.

Then simply:

1. Wrap the candies in parchment paper and secure with double stick tape.
2. Wrap with rayon trimming ribbon.
3. Line them up to display or place one on each napkin.

According to Chelsea, these will cost 10c each to make!

Kaysi submitted these lovely pictures from a recent baby shower that she put together for her friend Kellee. The theme was “How Tweet It Is”, and it featured lots of birdie elements throughout. Kaysi created the invitations, roseballs, centerpieces, and favor boxes. The dessert table and other details were done by FABU Weddings. The macaroons, cake and birdie sugar cookies were made by Dippedee Bakery.

What a stunning way to add a punch of colour, and create the wow factor at any event! These easy to make hanging mobiles will create a dramatic effect, and will certainly have your guests talking. I can see these being a great backdrop for a dessert table, creating a great focal point, hanging from trees outside, or just hanging over the dinner table. They would be perfect for a rainbow themed party, or absolutely any event where you need to add a burst of colour and excitement. They’ll definitely make a big impact wherever you choose to hang them!

I’m really loving these delightfully sweet little flower arrangements. So perfect for a spring baby shower or a darling little girl’s party. My daughter’s 3rd birthday is coming up in September, and these are the exact colours I’ve chosen for her party (but more on that later!) These little cuties could serve as centerpieces, and can even double as party favors, and guests can keep the pretty tea cups long after the flowers fade.

You will need:

 -Vintage tea cups

-2 small roses, 1 large rose, 1 dahlia bud, 1 stem of sedum per arrangement

-Cardstock

-Calligraphy pen

-Long toothpicks

Instructions: 

1. Fill tea cups with cold water.

2. Cut stems of roses about 1 inch short and place them in the teacup.

3. Fill in the space between the roses with sedum and then added a dahlia bud poking up out of the side.

4. Cut a piece of cardstock about 1.5 inches wide and 8 inches long.

5. Fold the cardstock in half and cut a v at the end so it looks like a ribbon.

6. Tape a long toothpick to the inside of the flag and then write your message on each flag using a calligraphy pen.

Jackie from Jackie Fo, helped to create this lovely Pearl themed baby shower for a friend. They chose the theme because the mom to be had nicknamed her baby Pearl. {As I always say, make the theme personal, and it will definitely be a success.}  The shower was planned on a tight budget, but Jackie and her friends did a great job! Strings of pearls were used to decorate the mantle, to tie the cellophane bags for the cookie party favours, in the flower arrangements…everywhere. Jackie even made the banner to resemble pearls, and I love the little activity where guests were required to give the mom to be their ‘Pearls of Wisdom’. The Pearl Theme was really carried throughout the party. A fab example of how you can put together a  great party, full of lovely details, even when you’re on a budget. Thanks for sharing Jackie!    

Natasha from The Flair Factor threw a Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice baby shower for her friends, who were having a baby girl. She went with the colurs pink and green, and had a picnic style baby shower. I love the way she decorated the pink and green grapefruit soda bottles, with ribbons and personalized bottle caps. I also love the sugar rimmed glasses, and straws with mini pacifiers.

The dessert table was laid out with sugar and spice, and all things nice, under a pink canopy. A sign invited guests to ‘grab a bag, don’t think twice, fill it up with all things nice. Thanks for sharing Natasha.

I came across this sweet idea to recycle old votive holders and use them as flower vases / place settings / favors, via Project Wedding. Talk about budget friendly! I have lots of old votive holders lying around, and I certainly wouldn’t protest against putting them to such good use. These would look so lovely as place holders at a baby shower, and what’s really great is that they can also double as party favors or simple centerpieces! The pictured vases are filled with pretty primroses but you can use any other small flower such as violets, pansies, individual hydrangea blossoms, miniature daffodils, or muscari.  

Here’s How To Make Them

You’ll Need:

Votive holders

6-8 stems per vase

Steps:

1. To remove wax from votive holders, leave them in the freezer for several days.

2. Be sure and wash the vases completely to remove any excess wax and dry thoroughly. 

3. Write the name of each guest on a label and affix it to the vase.

4. Fill each vase about half-way full of water.

5. Cut the stems short so the blossoms rest against the side of the vase but be sure the stems are long enough to drink water.

6. Arrange the flowers the night before the event and keep them in a fridge, away from fruit if possible.

I’ve been meaning to post pictures of this pretty baby shower that Jessica from Party Box design sent me, and I finally got a chance today! Jessica put together this darling baby shower for a friend, using the colours from the baby’s room. She chose the My Little Cupcake theme because in her words “I thought she’s baking a little cupcake in her belly”. There were lots of sweet details, and pretty centerpieces made by Jessica herself. I love that she sent guests home with their own DIY little cupcake kits: Mason jars filled with cake mix, shredded coconut, and chocolate chip morsels, with cute little tags with baking instructions on the back. Cute, cute cute!

If you love pink and brown, you’ll love this ultra girly baby shower by Clau of Eye Candy Events. It oozes girly sweetness, and serves up some delighful bakerella inspired treats…from the famous marshmallow pops, to the DIY cookie jar favours.

That dessert table is just so adorable! 

I love the idea of using Marshmallows as toppings for the cupcakes, and these cookie favour jars are such a sweet idea!

Here’s a little of what Clau had to say about this event:

“I decided to make a baby shower for a very good friend who is expecting her 1^st baby.  It´s a girl so I decided to go with a color palette of white, soft pink and brown.  I thought it was a chic and cute combination.  I decided to bake some chocolate cupcakes and decorate them with Philadelphia frosting in pink and a small white marshmallow as the topping. Then I made some marshmallow pops.  I decide to make them look like mini cupcakes so I choose white medium size marshmallows covered with chocolate and put a small White Candy Mint as topper.  As favors, I did use an idea I found on the Bakerella blog, which is the ingredients of a recipe to make cookies in a decorated jar with the instructions to bake them. My friends were fascinated with the idea and with all the party decorations like the banner and the cupcake toppers, which I also made it myself.”
