Kaysi submitted these lovely pictures from a recent baby shower that she put together for her friend Kellee. The theme was “How Tweet It Is”, and it featured lots of birdie elements throughout. Kaysi created the invitations, roseballs, centerpieces, and favor boxes. The dessert table and other details were done by FABU Weddings. The macaroons, cake and birdie sugar cookies were made by Dippedee Bakery.

Jackie from Jackie Fo, helped to create this lovely Pearl themed baby shower for a friend. They chose the theme because the mom to be had nicknamed her baby Pearl. {As I always say, make the theme personal, and it will definitely be a success.}  The shower was planned on a tight budget, but Jackie and her friends did a great job! Strings of pearls were used to decorate the mantle, to tie the cellophane bags for the cookie party favours, in the flower arrangements…everywhere. Jackie even made the banner to resemble pearls, and I love the little activity where guests were required to give the mom to be their ‘Pearls of Wisdom’. The Pearl Theme was really carried throughout the party. A fab example of how you can put together a  great party, full of lovely details, even when you’re on a budget. Natasha from The Flair Factor threw a Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice baby shower for her friends, who were having a baby girl. She went with the colurs pink and green, and had a picnic style baby shower. I love the way she decorated the pink and green grapefruit soda bottles, with ribbons and personalized bottle caps. I also love the sugar rimmed glasses, and straws with mini pacifiers.

The dessert table was laid out with sugar and spice, and all things nice, under a pink canopy. A sign invited guests to ‘grab a bag, don’t think twice, fill it up with all things nice. Thanks for sharing Natasha.

Blooming is defined as “opening in blossoms, flowering.” “ Thriving in health, beauty, & vigour; indicating the freshness & beauties of youth or health.” Whenever I think of the word “Blooming”, I think of wonderful blossoms of pinks & reds bursting with life, opening up to reveal beauty & splendour. That’s why I think this is such a great theme for a baby shower or first birthday party. Blooming is all about a tiny bud opening up to revel new life overflowing with beauty, freshness & vibrance. The ‘Blooming’ theme is very apt for celebrating the new life about to open up & the beauty about to be reveled to the world when a new baby is born. It’s also a great theme for celebrating growth from a tiny bud into a blooming one year old full of life, vibrance, & beauty. So I’ve put together a bit of  ‘Blooming’ inspiration which can be adapted for both baby showers and first birthday parties.

For Decor, {see above}, hang red paper lanterns over the table. You can also add in some red tissue pom poms for a ‘more blooming effect.’ See this post for inspiration. Use pretty submerged flowers or pink & red blooms as centerpieces. If you have multiple tables, use both types of centerpieces, for even more blooming variety. Create a stunning hanging feature with pictures of the mum to be at different stages of her pregnancy, or pictures of the baby’s development from birth to one. Attach the pictures to strings of clear pink beads with wooden clothes pins & embellish with little pink roses.

Serve treats from the delectable spread above. Start with a scoop of strawberry sorbet served in a lovely white dish, garnished with a pale pink sweet pea, or serve a raspberry ricotta fool garnished with toasted almond slices. Make this five layer strawberry/ raspberry/ cherry jello. Consider a sundae station, where guests can make their own strawberry sundaes. Serve pink & red mocktails  at a baby shower, fruit punch & strawberry milkshakes at a birthday party. Raspberry macaroons are lovely, & sliced strawberries with whipped cream always please. You may want to create a pink & red candy buffet, especially for a birthday party. Decorate pink cupcakes with blooming roses, and send your guests home with cake pops covered with pink & red sprinkles, or pink & red candy wrapped in cellophane bags, sealed with pink & red patterned paper.

I love this colour combo, so I thought I’d share a bit of inspiration incase you’re thinking of planning a fuchsia & orange baby shower for a special mum to be.  The drinks are mocktails ofcourse (non-alcoholic cocktails). The table center piece is actually a bouquet of paper flowers, tucked into a long stemmed vase with little goldfish swimming around. I love the simple & elegant candy buffet layout, & the candy party favours wrapped in cello bags. The “welcome sweet baby” baby shower banner is custom designed so you can add in the baby’s name (if it’s already decided!).

This gorgeous ‘B’ inspired party was styled by Lollipop Events & Designs, & featured on Hostess Blog. Oozing with style & creativity, I’m sure you’ll find lots of ideas & inspiration to incorporate into your own baby shower.

Here are the details as told by the girls from Lollipop Events.  

“Baby is for Baby Shower …and Baby Boy Baron. We took the Birds & the Bees to a whole other level with this retro inspired baby shower featuring a warm yellow, white and grey color pallette. We started off by finding adorable yellow and grey floral patterned fabric on Etsy and designed custom linens trimmed with bright yellow burlap.

We also created placemats by simply cutting out circles of the burlap for a super easy DIY! The table was set underneath a series of frames we had built then covered with a white cotton for a delicate shade.

For the floral chandeliers, we started with two sizes of embroidery loops and attached tons of various shades of yellow and white ribbons and yarn through each of them. Then we covered the smaller loop with a thick ribbon to give it some form and hand sewed white carnations around the large top loop. White yarn and wire was used to attach the chandelier to a smaller top circular frame and then to the roof of the frame itself. The more the wind blew and the yarn unraveled at its ends the more charming it became!

To make each place setting special we baked 40 individual coconut cakes topped with mini-handmade marzipan bees set on vintage doilies! We found the DIY for the marzipan bees over at MarthaStewart.com.

Baby bottles served as the glasses for the Baby Bottle Bellinis (triple B word!) and proudly wore ‘B’ flags of their own.

Vintage vases and vessels were filled with bright, energetic mums, daisies and exotic sunflowers accented with craspedia balls. We actually found a lot of the retro vases at our local thrift stores for eco-chic entertaining!

The candy buffet was nestled under a four-poster cabana we also had made for this event and was covered with cotton fabric and had its own gorgeous ribbon chandelier swaying from it. Strands of butterflies were draped around the posts for the fanciful effect sure to lure.

Tons of various height apothecary jars were filled with sugarlicious yellow candies and had custom tags draped with yellow ribbons calling out what their delicious bellies held.

We also made goody bags and asked to take home as many delectable goodies as they could hold.

We played Badmitton, Bocce Ball, had accents of Birds, Bees, Butterflies, Balloons and even served up a cute bowl of bright yellow Bananas! Each guest took home a Bag of candy… The ‘B’s were never ending and would also work fabulously for a ‘B’ridal Shower!”

Friends Mandy, Jackie & Trish came up with this great baby shower idea, and hardly spent much to put it all together. They used up left over candy from a previous party, and added some very creative touches to create a fabulous candy themed baby shower.

Of course all the yummy sweets and treats were laid out in a lovely, colourful candy buffet. Elegant bubble chandeliers bought on clearance from IKEA hung from the ceiling. The cylindrical vase ceterpieces, filled with bubblegum & lollipops, re-labeled with a “Sweetest Thing Candy Shoppe” logo, were budget friendly & easy to make.

The Candy Table centerpiece was a stunning nappy cake decorated with pink lollipops, bubble gum & lots of lovely ribbon.  Have a look How to make modern nappy cakes, for ideas on how to make your own.   

At the end of the party, guests filled up take away bags with their choice of candy from the lovely buffet.

And the adorable owl cellophane bags filled with pink cotton candy were the perfect party favours for this sweet baby shower.

Kelly’s Advice On How To Set Up Your Noah’s Ark Baby Shower

Decorate your space in shades of green, with pops of melon, pale blue and mustard yellow.  Hang colored lanterns above your food table in all of your pop colors….throw in a green polka dot lantern or two for a touch of pattern.  Use a solid colored table cloth, white plates and napkins.  For a modern place setting, create a silverware envelope with your napkin, place on your plate and tie together with a skinny pattern ribbon.  Use a few small, potted grass plants for your centerpiece on the table, and scattered throughout the party space.  If you want to dress them up a bit, add a ring of daisies around the grass.  To do this, simply snip the daisy head from the stem (leaving approximately a 1? stem), and place a long pin thru the head of the flower (this will make it stronger when you stick it into the plant).  Add a playful touch to your centerpiece by placing a few plush animals in between your grass plants.  These darling animals from Land of Nod are perfect for the party, and will be a welcome addition to the baby’s nursery after the party (monkey, giraffe, lion).

A few ideas for your food: Ladies like to chat at these parties, not eat a heavy meal!  Keep your menu light, but throw in a couple of small touches to carry out your theme.  If you plan on having a cheese plate, arrange some crackers and fruit as you typically would….but then use mini cookie cutters to cut your cheese slices into the  shapes of animals. For dessert, serve mini cupcakes with animal silhouettes made out of chocolate on top. You can buy chocolate in different colors at your local craft store to make your animals coordinate with your color palette.

I have to agree with Kelly, that this is a lovely lovely baby shower idea! Your first job is to find similar lanterns, stuffed animals, animal cookie cutters, and coloured chocolate in the UK, that should be fun.
