After I saw the gorgeous centerpieces Jessica created for her daughter’s peaches and cream birthday party, using raffia flowers, I went in search of a tutorial, and didn’t have to look very far. I found these beautiful pictures of raffia flowers on Jessica’s blog, and a great video tutorial via Martha Stewart. I absolutely love these little raffia creations, not only because they’re gorgeous, but because they evoke nostalgic feelings, of market days growing up in the Caribbean, when the streets would be lined with market ladies selling baskets decorated with colourful raffia flowers, (much like the one in the Martha Stweart video). I’ve got to try them out someday!
