Kailani’s Very Hungry Caterpillar First Birthday Party

Sheila sent us pictures of the cute very hungry caterpillar party that she threw for her daugher Kailani’s first birthday. She invited the guests with apple shaped hungry catterpillar invitations calling all hungry caterpillars to crawl over and play. And when they did crawl over, she served them everything that the storybook hungry caterpillar ate. There were apples, oranges, plums, pears, strawberries, chocolate cake, ice cream cones, pickles, swiss cheese, salami served with butterfly crackers, lollipops, cherry pie {tarts}, sausage {hot dogs}, cupcakes, and watermelon. Along with rice and teriyaki chicken, and a green leaf {salad}. The table was decorated with signs stating what the very hungry caterpillar ate on each day of the week.

The guests played pin the caterpillar on the apple, catch the butterflies, and smashed a butterfly pinata. Shiela attached butterflies to white paper bags bearing each child’s name, to make cute favour bags. She decorated some empty baby food jars with hungry caterpillar stickers, and filled them with yummy ”caterpillar snacks” {trix cereal}.
